TrulliGP New Team in Formula E

Jarno Trulli, former Formula One™ driver, announced a new team for the FIA Formula E World Championship named TrulliGP, powered by Drayson wireless charging.

TrulliGP acquired the Drayson Racing Formula E entry and signed a technology supply agreement with Drayson Technologies as Principal Technology Partner.

Jarno Trulli will serve as one of the team drivers and the team becomes the first Formula E outfit to adopt Drayson wireless charging technology, aiming to eliminate cable-based charging constraints.

Drayson Racing tested the B12/69 EV at Silverstone under wet conditions to evaluate cooling systems and traction control improvements.

The team ran multiple configurations with reduced aero and power while collecting high-value data from over 1000 sensor channels.

Despite heavy rain, the car matched previous lap times, proving continuous performance improvements.

Drayson Racing began 2014 with major awards and recognition for innovation in electric vehicle technology.

The company received the Motorsport Industry Association Business Excellence Award for Technology & Innovation.

Lord Drayson presented at the MIA Low Carbon Racing Conference alongside the B12/69 EV display.

The team also won Race Engine Technology’s Alternative Power Race Engine of the Year award.

Lord Drayson received the prestigious SIMMS Medal from the Royal Automobile Club.

The award recognized his contribution to automotive innovation and electric land speed record achievements.

He set multiple records including 205.139 mph flying mile speed and a 9.742 second quarter mile EV acceleration record.

Drayson Racing set four electric land speed records using the B12/69 EV prototype.

The project demonstrated extreme EV performance and validated wireless charging and drivetrain systems.

Drayson Racing signed a wireless EV charging agreement with Qualcomm Incorporated.

The system enables inductive charging pads to replace traditional EV plug-in systems.

Testing included high-speed trials and motorsport environments including Goodwood Festival of Speed.
